On Monday October 3, Jan Chojecki’s lecture at Dundee’s Discovery Point described John Quiller Rowett’s involvement in financing the 1921-22 Shackleton-Rowett (Quest) Expedition. Also, looking at Quest in comparison to vessels such as Discovery and Endurance, Jan drew out an analysis of the complex mixture of difficulties experienced with the ship – in particular with regard to its selection in the first place and its outfitting and preparation prior to the expedition. He interspersed the talk with mention of the various Scottish connections to the Quest expedition. The Quest Chronicle published on 7 September
