On 4th January 2023 the BBC broadcast Shackleton’s Cabin, an excellent documentary by Moondance Productions describing the fascinating story of the recovery and detailed restoration of the cabin of Sir Ernest Shackleton from the Quest. Shackleton died in this cabin on the night of 4/5 January 1922.  First shown on RTE, Ireland, in June 2022, this was screened by the BBC 101 years to the day that Shackleton passed away.  The restoration was carried out by Sven Habermann, and the film features Sven’s tale and his conversations with Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the Right Hon Alexandra Shackleton and Jan Chojecki, the author of The Quest Chronicle.
